Crystals have been used for their powerful properties for thousands of years.

Sumerian’s used crystals like obsidian and

carnelian to ward off evil spirits and give protection.

The Egyptian’s used crystals for their jewellery and head wear. Cleopatra was said to have servants grind up lapis lazuli for her eyeliner. It was thought that only kings and queens use blue crystals.

The Greeks believed that crystals are the gifts from the Gods and by wearing them they felt closer to heaven. Jewellery for the Greek gods (Athena and Zeus) was made by using clear quartz crystals.

Romans

The Roman soldiers and gladiators used crystals carved into amulets and wore them around the neck for protection. The Romans has better selection to crystals and stones and their popular choices were Jasper and Amethyst.
